Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.95%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Ferrovial (MC:FER), which rose 2.83% or 0.530 points to trade at 19.250 at the close. Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) added 2.15% or 0.086 points to end at 4.090 and ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) was up 1.93% or 0.520 points to 27.470 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Viscofan (MC:VIS), which lost 0.43% or 0.240 points to trade at 54.940 in late trade. Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) declined 0.30% or 0.07 points to end at 21.52 and Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) shed 0.10% or 0.004 points to 4.216.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 127 to 47 and 20 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.12% or 1.50 to $1271.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.38% or 0.22 to hit $58.31 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.29% or 0.19 to trade at $64.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.01% to 1.1871, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8876.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 92.86.
