Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Financial Services & Real Estate and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.92%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Mapfre (MC:MAP), which rose 2.67% or 0.071 points to trade at 2.728 at the close. Indra A (MC:IDR) added 2.48% or 0.280 points to end at 11.585 and B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) was up 2.37% or 0.039 points to 1.682 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which lost 0.31% or 0.030 points to trade at 9.570 in late trade. Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE) added 0.18% or 0.035 points to end at 18.930 and Inditex (MC:ITX) gained 0.18% or 0.055 points to 30.010.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 145 to 38 and 18 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.66% or 8.30 to $1265.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.72% or 0.41 to hit $56.92 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.28% or 0.18 to trade at $63.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.1800, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8806.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 93.11.
