Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Financial Services & Real Estate and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.60%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Telefonica (MC:TEF), which rose 2.43% or 0.164 points to trade at 6.917 at the close. Banco Santander (MC:SAN) added 1.82% or 0.077 points to end at 4.337 and Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) was up 1.58% or 0.032 points to 2.025 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which lost 5.74% or 1.400 points to trade at 23.000 in late trade. Aena SME SA (MC:AENA) declined 0.85% or 1.25 points to end at 144.95 and Indra A (MC:IDR) shed 0.66% or 0.065 points to 9.795.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 111 to 69 and 15 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.34% or 4.10 to $1202.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.36% or 0.27 to hit $75.50 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.61% or 0.52 to trade at $85.32 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.24% to 1.1519, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8869.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 95.37.
