Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (BME:GRLS), which rose 3.24% or 0.27 points to trade at 8.48 at the close. Industria de Diseno Textil SA (BME:ITX) added 2.71% or 1.23 points to end at 46.59 and Naturgy Energy Group SA (BME:NTGY) was up 0.97% or 0.22 points to 22.86 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (BME:COL), which lost 1.10% or 0.06 points to trade at 5.41 in late trade. Ferrovial (BME:FER) declined 0.93% or 0.34 points to end at 36.36 and SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) shed 0.89% or 0.10 points to 11.08.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 121 to 61 and 30 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.62% or 40.35 to $2,532.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.60% or 1.25 to hit $76.91 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.38% or 1.12 to trade at $79.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 102.53.
