Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Building & Construction, Telecoms & IT and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS), which rose 7.62% or 2.075 points to trade at 29.305 at the close. Indra A (MC:IDR) added 2.54% or 0.290 points to end at 11.730 and Telefonica (MC:TEF) was up 2.06% or 0.163 points to 8.065 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Abertis Infr (MC:ABE), which lost 3.97% or 0.770 points to trade at 18.630 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) declined 1.34% or 0.360 points to end at 26.570 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) shed 0.82% or 0.100 points to 12.130.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 97 to 79 and 15 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.47% or 6.30 to $1321.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.16% or 0.71 to hit $60.44 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.85% or 0.55 to trade at $63.79 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.77% to 1.2315, while EUR/GBP fell 0.17% to 0.8915.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.61% at 90.11.
