Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ENCE (MC:ENC), which rose 6.79% or 0.395 points to trade at 6.210 at the close. Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) added 3.48% or 2.080 points to end at 61.820 and Naturgy Energy Group SA (MC:NTGY) was up 1.67% or 0.380 points to 23.110 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which lost 2.77% or 0.166 points to trade at 5.822 in late trade. International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) declined 1.85% or 0.126 points to end at 6.674 and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:SGREN) shed 1.66% or 0.190 points to 11.250.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 112 to 62 and 15 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.27% or 3.45 to $1287.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.63% or 1.33 to hit $51.84 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 2.03% or 1.20 to trade at $60.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.74% to 1.1389, while EUR/GBP rose 0.32% to 0.8945.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.64% at 95.817.
