Investing.com – Saudi Arabia equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Building & Construction, Energy & Utilities and Petrochemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Saudi Arabia, the Tadawul All Share declined 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Tadawul All Share were BURUJ COOPERATIVE INSURANCE CO (SE:8270), which rose 9.39% or 2.30 points to trade at 26.80 at the close. Arabian Shield Coop Insurance Co (SE:8070) added 8.81% or 4.35 points to end at 53.75 and Salama Cooperative Insurance Co (SE:8050) was up 6.42% or 0.85 points to 14.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saudi Arabian Amiantit Co. (SE:2160), which lost 9.62% or 0.75 points to trade at 7.05 in late trade. Middle East Healthcare Co (SE:4009) declined 8.36% or 6.25 points to end at 68.50 and Fawaz Abdulaziz AlHokair Company (SE:4240) shed 4.69% or 1.50 points to 30.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 109 to 49 and 13 ended unchanged on the Saudi Arabia Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 1.70% or 0.89 to $51.59 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 1.59% or 0.88 to hit $54.59 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.09% or 1.15 to trade at $1211.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/SAR was down 0.46% to 3.9988, while USD/SAR rose 0.03% to 3.7514.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.58% at 100.84.
