Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking & Financials, Holding Firms and Property sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite fell 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG), which rose 1.94% or 0.090 points to trade at 4.740 at the close. Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC) added 1.63% or 2.0000 points to end at 125.0000 and Ayala Corp (PS:AC) was up 1.52% or 12.880 points to 860.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (PS:AEV), which lost 3.29% or 2.600 points to trade at 76.500 in late trade. Philex Mining Corp (PS:PX) declined 2.47% or 0.220 points to end at 8.700 and BDO Unibank Inc (PS:BDO) shed 2.18% or 2.50 points to 112.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 101 to 81 and 48 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.53% or 7.05 to $1346.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.76% or 1.35 to hit $47.64 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 2.26% or 1.13 to trade at $48.97 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.27% to 7.0492, while USD/PHP rose 0.51% to 47.010.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 95.58.
