Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Retail, Financials and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Hygeia (AT:HYGr), which rose 8.33% or 0.017 points to trade at 0.221 at the close. Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr) added 7.94% or 0.027 points to end at 0.359 and AS Company SA (AT:ASCr) was up 4.72% or 0.034 points to 0.754 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which lost 4.73% or 0.0070 points to trade at 0.1410 in late trade. Korres (AT:KRRr) declined 2.65% or 0.100 points to end at 3.680 and Terna Energy (AT:TENr) shed 2.10% or 0.060 points to 2.800.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 65 to 39 and 20 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.37% or 16.85 to $1250.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.59% or 0.85 to hit $54.44 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.59% or 0.89 to trade at $56.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.0586, while EUR/GBP fell 0.44% to 0.8443.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 100.95.
