Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 1.56% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.7150 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 1.39% or 0.0460 points to end at 3.3660 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 0.99% or 0.0004 points to 0.0408 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which lost 2.49% or 0.166 points to trade at 6.500 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 1.68% or 0.0310 points to end at 1.8090 and Portucel (LS:PTI) shed 1.56% or 0.0490 points to 3.0910.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 28 to 17 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was down 1.00% or 0.45 to $44.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.69% or 0.74 to hit $42.99 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.96% or 11.75 to trade at $1241.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.39% to 1.1267, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.7779.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.39% at 94.74.
