Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Basic Resources and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr), which rose 4.38% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.670 at the close. Petros Petropoulos SA (AT:PTRr) added 3.47% or 0.140 points to end at 4.170 and Mytilineos Holdings SA (AT:MYTr) was up 2.62% or 0.100 points to 3.910 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which lost 9.59% or 0.014 points to trade at 0.132 in late trade. Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) declined 9.39% or 0.2600 points to end at 2.5100 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) shed 7.84% or 0.008 points to 0.094.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 49 to 37 and 23 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.54% or 7.20 to $1323.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $44.67 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.15% or 0.07 to trade at $46.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1193, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8612.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.26% at 95.60.
