Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 1.95%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Popolare Milano (MI:PMII), which rose 7.59% or 0.0378 points to trade at 0.5355 at the close. Banco Popolare (MI:BAPO) added 6.10% or 0.1880 points to end at 3.2700 and Saipem (MI:SPMI) was up 5.62% or 0.0202 points to 0.3795 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI), which lost 0.79% or 0.055 points to trade at 6.865 in late trade. A2A (MI:A2) declined 0.63% or 0.008 points to end at 1.266 and Italcementi (MI:ITAI) 0.00% or 0.000 points to 10.540.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 296 to 112 and 14 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.74% or 0.37 to $50.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.09% or 0.55 to hit $51.10 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.08% or 0.95 to trade at $1246.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1350, while EUR/GBP fell 0.85% to 0.7796.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 93.90.
