Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Utilities, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 1.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 3.07% or 0.0260 points to trade at 0.8740 at the close. Montepio (LS:MPIO) added 2.31% or 0.011 points to end at 0.487 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was up 0.83% or 0.1400 points to 17.0850 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP (LS:EDP), which lost 3.69% or 0.1170 points to trade at 3.0560 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 3.04% or 0.1340 points to end at 4.2720 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 2.19% or 0.0210 points to 0.9400.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 21 to 12 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 0.17% or 0.08 to $46.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.47% or 0.21 to hit $44.52 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.60% or 20.45 to trade at $1255.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.64% to 1.1146, while EUR/GBP fell 0.68% to 0.8740.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.60% at 97.49.
