Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.99%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 0.60% or 0.0010 points to trade at 0.1680 at the close. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) added 0.14% or 0.0010 points to end at 0.7070 and EDP (LS:EDP) was down 0.07% or 0.0020 points to 2.6970 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which lost 3.01% or 0.0470 points to trade at 1.5150 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 2.96% or 0.1090 points to end at 3.5700 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) shed 2.50% or 0.1330 points to 5.1850.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 35 to 17 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 0.28% or 0.15 to $54.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.57% or 0.29 to hit $51.35 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.74% or 8.65 to trade at $1178.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.0671, while EUR/GBP fell 0.59% to 0.8418.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 100.82.
