Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.82% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA), which rose 3.49% or 0.0675 points to trade at 2.0035 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA) added 2.30% or 0.0085 points to end at 0.3775 and Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) was up 0.94% or 0.0050 points to 0.5350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI), which lost 6.82% or 0.0900 points to trade at 1.2300 in late trade. Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) declined 3.01% or 0.03 points to end at 0.81 and Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS) shed 2.95% or 0.1045 points to 3.4355.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 41 to 21 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 1.04% or 0.67 to $63.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.16% or 0.70 to hit $59.75 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.42% or 5.00 to trade at $1175.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.1265, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.7165.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 95.11.
