Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Services and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA), which rose 2.90% or 0.0770 points to trade at 2.7350 at the close. Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) added 1.76% or 0.01 points to end at 0.86 and Portucel (LISBON:PTI) was up 0.98% or 0.0355 points to 3.6555 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI), which lost 2.52% or 0.0280 points to trade at 1.0820 in late trade. J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT) declined 2.18% or 0.2600 points to end at 11.6400 and Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA) shed 2.14% or 0.0085 points to 0.3895.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 45 to 17 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.88% or 0.51 to $58.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.51% or 0.79 to hit $52.99 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.10% or 1.10 to trade at $1154.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1008, while EUR/GBP fell 0.54% to 0.7065.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 96.84.
