Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA), which rose 1.86% or 0.0570 points to trade at 3.1280 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LISBON:GALP) added 0.75% or 0.0900 points to end at 12.1200 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LISBON:CTT) was up 0.74% or 0.0750 points to 10.2100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Portugal Telecom (LISBON:PTC), which lost 2.63% or 0.0155 points to trade at 0.5745 in late trade. J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT) declined 2.56% or 0.3175 points to end at 12.1025 and Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) shed 2.08% or 0.02 points to 0.94.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 51 to 12 and 1 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.30% or 0.20 to $65.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.35% or 0.20 to hit $57.19 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.80% or 9.60 to trade at $1212.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.65% to 1.0961, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.7158.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.61% at 96.31.
