Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 1.33% or 0.0040 points to trade at 0.3050 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) added 0.81% or 0.1400 points to end at 17.3600 and Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) was up 0.78% or 0.115 points to 14.765 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 1.25% or 0.0030 points to trade at 0.2370 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) declined 0.94% or 0.1250 points to end at 13.1850 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 0.84% or 0.0080 points to 0.9430.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 13 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 2.37% or 1.09 to $44.93 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.11% or 0.92 to hit $42.59 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.24% or 2.95 to trade at $1246.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.1143, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8806.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 97.38.
