Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 3.38% or 0.0510 points to trade at 1.5620 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 2.59% or 0.3300 points to end at 13.0950 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) was up 1.67% or 0.0490 points to 2.9830 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which lost 3.05% or 0.244 points to trade at 7.756 in late trade. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) declined 2.68% or 0.4000 points to end at 14.5100 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 1.89% or 0.0150 points to 0.7800.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 25 to 22 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 4.34% or 2.25 to $54.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 4.07% or 2.01 to hit $51.45 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.63% or 7.35 to trade at $1166.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.0623, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.8449.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.31% at 101.32.
