Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 2.77% or 0.0090 points to trade at 0.3340 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) added 1.52% or 0.0560 points to end at 3.7300 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 0.96% or 0.0024 points to 0.2529 in late trade.
Biggest losers included J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which lost 4.32% or 0.7500 points to trade at 16.6200 in late trade. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) declined 2.08% or 0.250 points to end at 11.750 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) shed 1.64% or 0.0140 points to 0.8420.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 13 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.94% or 0.48 to $51.45 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.62% or 0.30 to hit $49.05 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.76% or 9.50 to trade at $1258.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.1664, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.8926.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 93.83.
