Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which rose 2.25% or 0.43 points to trade at 19.57 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) added 1.93% or 0.09 points to end at 4.48 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) was up 1.00% or 0.04 points to 3.62 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which lost 4.06% or 0.15 points to trade at 3.54 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) declined 2.87% or 0.01 points to end at 0.39 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) shed 1.23% or 0.12 points to 9.67.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 14 to 14 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 1.48% or 1.24 to $84.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.97% or 1.57 to hit $81.28 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.07% or 1.80 to trade at $2,466.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.29% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 103.54.
