Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 1.61% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which rose 0.87% or 0.0300 points to trade at 3.4600 at the close. Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) added 0.42% or 0.050 points to end at 12.000 and Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 3.070 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 5.13% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.2035 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 2.71% or 0.1100 points to end at 3.9550 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 2.58% or 0.0330 points to 1.2480.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 26 to 8 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was down 1.54% or 1.07 to $68.58 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.87% or 0.57 to hit $65.23 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.73% or 9.80 to trade at $1338.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.37% to 1.2468, while EUR/GBP rose 0.40% to 0.8805.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.51% at 88.93.
