Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 1.55% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which rose 0.56% or 0.0950 points to trade at 17.0150 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 0.42% or 0.0140 points to end at 3.3320 and Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 11.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 4.72% or 0.0105 points to trade at 0.2120 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 3.28% or 0.1200 points to end at 3.5400 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) shed 3.15% or 0.0094 points to 0.2894.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 27 to 7 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was down 3.12% or 2.02 to $62.79 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 3.42% or 2.09 to hit $59.06 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 1.10 to trade at $1317.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.2208, while EUR/GBP rose 0.75% to 0.8868.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 90.45.
