Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Financials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF), which rose 1.56% or 0.0001 points to trade at 0.0065 at the close. REN (LISBON:RENE) added 0.76% or 0.0205 points to end at 2.7245 and EDP (LISBON:EDP) was up 0.14% or 0.0050 points to 3.5920 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA), which lost 2.33% or 0.0085 points to trade at 0.3565 in late trade. Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) declined 2.30% or 0.02 points to end at 0.85 and Galp Energia Nom (LISBON:GALP) shed 2.11% or 0.2250 points to 10.4450.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 51 to 17 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 1.38% or 0.77 to $54.51 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.87% or 0.42 to hit $48.03 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.83% or 9.10 to trade at $1085.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.08% to 1.0976, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.7078.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 97.39.
