Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Utilities and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 1.79% or 0.0420 points to trade at 2.3920 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 0.88% or 0.100 points to end at 11.455 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 0.73% or 0.0070 points to 0.9700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 1.83% or 0.0042 points to trade at 0.2258 in late trade. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 1.02% or 0.1600 points to end at 15.4600 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) shed 0.92% or 0.0070 points to 0.7580.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 13 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was up 0.02% or 0.01 to $52.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.40% or 0.19 to hit $47.62 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.42% or 5.41 to trade at $1297.41 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.69% to 1.1882, while EUR/GBP rose 0.07% to 0.9224.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.63% at 92.64.
