Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Financials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 1.07% or 0.0260 points to trade at 2.4580 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 1.03% or 0.1450 points to end at 14.1950 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 0.93% or 0.0070 points to 0.7590 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 4.78% or 0.0150 points to trade at 0.2990 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 3.54% or 0.0079 points to end at 0.2151 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) shed 1.56% or 0.0580 points to 3.6510.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 20 to 15 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was up 1.97% or 1.03 to $53.37 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.81% or 1.33 to hit $48.62 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.91% or 12.14 to trade at $1342.54 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1911, while EUR/GBP fell 0.60% to 0.9147.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 92.28.
