Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.35% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which rose 0.77% or 0.1250 points to trade at 16.4600 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 0.58% or 0.0800 points to end at 13.8200 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 0.32% or 0.0010 points to 0.3150 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which lost 2.12% or 0.0790 points to trade at 3.6510 in late trade. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) declined 1.91% or 0.0690 points to end at 3.5500 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 1.77% or 0.0170 points to 0.9450.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 26 to 9 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was down 0.27% or 0.14 to $51.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.46% or 0.68 to hit $45.89 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.29% or 3.88 to trade at $1319.18 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.2017, while EUR/GBP rose 0.35% to 0.9294.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 91.98.
