Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 1.87% or 0.0700 points to trade at 3.8200 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) added 1.28% or 0.2400 points to end at 18.9200 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 0.82% or 0.0230 points to 2.8330 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 5.78% or 0.0130 points to trade at 0.2120 in late trade. Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) declined 3.79% or 0.110 points to end at 2.790 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) shed 2.29% or 0.0740 points to 3.1540.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 20 to 14 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was down 2.80% or 1.84 to $63.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 3.00% or 1.88 to hit $60.72 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.67% or 9.00 to trade at $1326.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.2395, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8929.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 89.68.
