Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 2.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 5.60% or 0.0105 points to trade at 0.1980 at the close. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) added 4.06% or 0.2050 points to end at 5.2490 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was up 3.99% or 0.405 points to 10.565 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Montepio (LS:MPIO), which lost 1.68% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.409 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 0.99% or 0.0220 points to end at 2.1980 and Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) gained 0.28% or 0.040 points to 14.400.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 30 to 4 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was down 0.48% or 0.25 to $52.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.71% or 0.35 to hit $49.27 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.00% or 12.87 to trade at $1276.23 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.14% to 1.0850, while EUR/GBP rose 1.40% to 0.8487.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.63% at 99.03.
