Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Services and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 2.00%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 6.28% or 0.0153 points to trade at 0.2588 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 3.61% or 0.0120 points to end at 0.3440 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was up 3.54% or 0.1870 points to 5.4690 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which lost 0.80% or 0.100 points to trade at 12.435 in late trade. EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) declined 0.38% or 0.0260 points to end at 6.8680 and Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) gained 0.16% or 0.005 points to 3.200.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 27 to 10 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 1.26% or 0.60 to $48.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.19% or 0.54 to hit $46.03 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.18% or 2.16 to trade at $1216.94 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.24% to 1.1385, while EUR/GBP fell 0.54% to 0.8810.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 95.66.
