Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 1.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP), which rose 3.13% or 0.0027 points to trade at 0.0890 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT) added 2.84% or 0.3425 points to end at 12.3875 and Nos SGPS SA (LISBON:NOS) was up 1.82% or 0.1190 points to 6.6710 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu), which lost 1.03% or 0.0660 points to trade at 6.3430 in late trade. REN (LISBON:RENE) added 0.11% or 0.0030 points to end at 2.8040 and EDP (LISBON:EDP) gained 0.38% or 0.0135 points to 3.5875.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 55 to 11 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was down 0.38% or 0.24 to $65.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.10% or 0.06 to hit $57.09 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 2.45% or 28.80 to trade at $1203.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.45% to 1.0923, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.7160.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.44% at 96.64.
