Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 1.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 6.50% or 0.0180 points to trade at 0.2950 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 4.59% or 0.0103 points to end at 0.2348 and Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) was up 1.23% or 0.180 points to 14.845 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Montepio (LS:MPIO), which lost 5.78% or 0.029 points to trade at 0.473 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 4.50% or 0.1120 points to end at 2.3780 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) shed 1.17% or 0.150 points to 12.650.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 22 to 13 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 0.94% or 0.45 to $48.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.81% or 0.37 to hit $46.01 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.62% or 7.90 to trade at $1271.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.11% to 1.1198, while EUR/GBP rose 0.76% to 0.8800.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 97.25.
