Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Technology and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA), which rose 8.86% or 0.1880 points to trade at 2.3110 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LISBON:CTT) added 1.95% or 0.1810 points to end at 9.4780 and Portucel (LISBON:PTI) was up 1.68% or 0.0620 points to 3.7570 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA), which lost 3.78% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.2800 in late trade. EDP (LISBON:EDP) declined 0.71% or 0.0240 points to end at 3.3720 and EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu) shed 0.65% or 0.0420 points to 6.4510.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 39 to 20 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was up 2.97% or 1.46 to $50.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.01% or 0.88 to hit $44.75 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.14% or 12.50 to trade at $1106.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.50% to 1.1018, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.7067.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.46% at 97.22.
