Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Utilities and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which rose 4.54% or 0.2570 points to trade at 5.9120 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 1.24% or 0.0210 points to end at 1.7200 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 1.17% or 0.1450 points to 12.5150 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 1.28% or 0.0002 points to trade at 0.0154 in late trade. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) declined 0.71% or 0.0420 points to end at 5.8970 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 0.44% or 0.0030 points to 0.6770.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 28 to 17 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.37% or 0.73 to $52.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.27% or 0.65 to hit $50.70 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.07% or 0.85 to trade at $1259.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.65% to 1.1064, while EUR/GBP rose 0.73% to 0.9073.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.67% at 97.56.
