Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Telecoms and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae (LS:YSO), which rose 5.10% or 0.0420 points to trade at 0.8660 at the close. Montepio (LS:MPIO) added 4.22% or 0.019 points to end at 0.469 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 2.19% or 0.0034 points to 0.1585 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which lost 1.80% or 0.2500 points to trade at 13.6500 in late trade. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) declined 0.94% or 0.1500 points to end at 15.7350 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) shed 0.15% or 0.0090 points to 6.1860.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 23 to 11 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was down 2.56% or 1.36 to $51.75 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 2.70% or 1.36 to hit $48.92 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.49% or 5.95 to trade at $1203.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.40% to 1.0583, while EUR/GBP rose 0.43% to 0.8700.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 101.92.
