Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.61%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP), which rose 3.39% or 0.11 points to trade at 3.41 at the close. Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) added 2.69% or 0.49 points to end at 18.68 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) was up 1.52% or 0.07 points to 4.34 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which lost 1.01% or 0.11 points to trade at 10.83 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) declined 1.00% or 0.16 points to end at 15.79 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) shed 0.55% or 0.01 points to 2.55.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 10 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was down 2.53% or 1.91 to $73.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.89% or 2.09 to hit $70.27 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.45% or 12.10 to trade at $2,693.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.97% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.63% at 105.03.
