Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS), which rose 3.58% or 0.17 points to trade at 4.98 at the close. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) added 1.72% or 0.07 points to end at 4.02 and EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) was up 1.12% or 0.17 points to 15.33 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which lost 2.41% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.41 in late trade. Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) unchanged 0.16% or 0.00 points to end at 2.50 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) shed 0.11% or 0.01 points to 8.88.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 15 to 8 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.28% or 0.94 to $72.75 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.54% or 1.09 to hit $69.91 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.33% or 8.75 to trade at $2,654.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.57% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 100.56.
