Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.94% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 3.76% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.3034 at the close. Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) added 2.61% or 0.080 points to end at 3.140 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 1.97% or 0.0190 points to 0.9820 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS), which lost 1.64% or 0.200 points to trade at 12.000 in late trade. EDP (LS:EDP) declined 0.80% or 0.0230 points to end at 2.8680 and Semapa (LS:SEM) shed 0.43% or 0.0800 points to 18.5000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 19 to 12 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was down 0.07% or 0.05 to $69.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $64.00 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.66% or 8.90 to trade at $1330.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.38% to 1.2232, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8808.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 90.34.
