Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Financials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 7.18% or 0.0280 points to trade at 0.4180 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 2.60% or 0.0840 points to end at 3.3180 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 2.07% or 0.0050 points to 0.2465 in late trade.
Biggest losers included J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which lost 1.21% or 0.2000 points to trade at 16.3150 in late trade. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) declined 0.88% or 0.0380 points to end at 4.3020 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) shed 0.85% or 0.0450 points to 5.2660.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 20 to 15 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 0.04% or 0.02 to $56.63 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.27% or 0.14 to hit $51.06 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.45% or 5.81 to trade at $1287.99 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1842, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.8966.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 92.93.
