Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.19% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which rose 1.46% or 0.0730 points to trade at 5.0780 at the close. REN (LS:RENE) added 1.13% or 0.0300 points to end at 2.6760 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was up 0.81% or 0.0430 points to 5.3400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 2.20% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.4890 in late trade. Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) declined 1.74% or 0.215 points to end at 12.170 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) shed 0.89% or 0.1400 points to 15.6500.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 23 to 14 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 0.26% or 0.15 to $58.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.15% or 0.08 to hit $51.96 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.18% or 2.29 to trade at $1283.91 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1789, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.8934.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 93.31.
