Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which rose 1.67% or 0.2600 points to trade at 15.8500 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 1.36% or 0.2150 points to end at 16.0600 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was up 1.36% or 0.0760 points to 5.6470 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which lost 4.49% or 0.1780 points to trade at 3.7820 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 2.72% or 0.0980 points to end at 3.5000 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) shed 2.44% or 0.0110 points to 0.4390.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 16 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.35% or 0.21 to $60.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.28% or 0.15 to hit $54.45 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.06% or 0.72 to trade at $1278.02 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.1656, while EUR/GBP rose 1.81% to 0.8931.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 94.64.
