Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 1.86% or 0.0370 points to trade at 2.0250 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) added 1.74% or 0.1500 points to end at 8.7700 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 1.62% or 0.0510 points to 3.2010 in late trade.
Biggest losers included J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which lost 3.59% or 0.4400 points to trade at 11.8300 in late trade. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 2.74% or 0.0046 points to end at 0.1632 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) shed 1.68% or 0.0740 points to 4.3280.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 16 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 0.60% or 0.51 to $85.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.32% or 0.24 to hit $75.47 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.32% or 3.90 to trade at $1203.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1522, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.8868.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 95.36.
