Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Information Technology and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 1.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which rose 7.74% or 4.90 points to trade at 68.20 at the close. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) added 2.90% or 2.00 points to end at 71.00 and PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP) was up 1.74% or 1.08 points to 63.08 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN), which lost 3.80% or 0.25 points to trade at 6.33 in late trade. Synthos SA (WA:SNS) declined 3.79% or 0.180 points to end at 4.570 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) shed 3.17% or 0.86 points to 26.28.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 300 to 215 and 184 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.03% or 0.49 to $47.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.28% or 0.64 to hit $49.31 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.10% or 1.22 to trade at $1281.42 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.09% to 4.1915, while USD/PLN rose 0.34% to 3.7260.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 96.81.
