Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Food sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.96%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which rose 3.02% or 0.75 points to trade at 25.60 at the close. TVN SA (WA:TVN) added 2.87% or 0.49 points to end at 17.55 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) was up 1.76% or 0.63 points to 36.43 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN), which lost 8.35% or 0.56 points to trade at 6.15 in late trade. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) declined 2.85% or 1.98 points to end at 67.43 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) shed 2.60% or 3.40 points to 127.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 324 to 246 and 97 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.62% or 0.98 to $59.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.05% or 0.70 to hit $66.56 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.35% or 4.30 to trade at $1222.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.70% to 4.0702, while USD/PLN fell 0.83% to 3.5800.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 93.63.
