Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Energy and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.90%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER), which rose 2.68% or 0.99 points to trade at 37.99 at the close. Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) added 1.77% or 0.10 points to end at 5.76 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) was up 1.73% or 1.00 points to 58.74 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which lost 6.36% or 4.20 points to trade at 61.80 in late trade. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) declined 2.81% or 0.36 points to end at 12.45 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) shed 2.78% or 0.69 points to 24.11.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 321 to 240 and 99 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.32% or 0.80 to $59.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.24% or 0.81 to hit $64.31 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1179.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.33% to 4.1463, while USD/PLN rose 0.17% to 3.6774.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 94.81.
