Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Banking and Food sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 2.59% or 1.79 points to trade at 70.79 at the close. LPP SA (WA:LPPP) added 2.51% or 128.00 points to end at 5218.00 and Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) was up 1.28% or 0.07 points to 5.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP), which lost 3.94% or 6.85 points to trade at 166.95 in late trade. Synthos SA (WA:SNS) declined 3.14% or 0.190 points to end at 5.860 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) shed 2.46% or 0.59 points to 23.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 298 to 246 and 202 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.09% or 0.05 to $53.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.14% or 0.08 to hit $56.88 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.84% or 10.20 to trade at $1218.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.31% to 4.3172, while USD/PLN rose 0.03% to 3.9985.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 99.53.
