Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.48% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 2.66% or 2.10 points to trade at 80.90 at the close. Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) added 2.61% or 1.49 points to end at 58.55 and Synthos SA (WA:SNS) was up 2.09% or 0.10 points to 4.89 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which lost 6.86% or 5.52 points to trade at 75.00 in late trade. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) declined 6.07% or 0.82 points to end at 12.70 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) shed 2.74% or 3.10 points to 110.05.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 357 to 185 and 117 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.49% or 0.88 to $58.25 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.02% or 0.65 to hit $62.66 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.29% or 3.40 to trade at $1171.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.30% to 4.1711, while USD/PLN fell 0.81% to 3.7117.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.77% at 95.64.
