Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Energy and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP), which rose 2.85% or 1.57 points to trade at 56.75 at the close. Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) added 2.41% or 1.04 points to end at 44.15 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was up 1.44% or 1.25 points to 87.78 in late trade.
Biggest losers included OrangePL (WA:OPL), which lost 11.21% or 0.63 points to trade at 4.99 in late trade. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) declined 2.54% or 0.99 points to end at 38.05 and Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) shed 2.15% or 0.15 points to 6.84.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 303 to 287 and 167 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.25% or 0.13 to $53.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.45% or 0.25 to hit $55.84 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.05% or 0.65 to trade at $1225.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.15% to 4.3039, while USD/PLN rose 0.13% to 4.0721.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 101.32.
