Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which rose 0.97% or 74.35 points to trade at 7739.00 at the close. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 0.73% or 0.05 points to end at 6.90 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was up 0.55% or 0.52 points to 94.23 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which lost 2.19% or 1.12 points to trade at 50.13 in late trade. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) declined 1.60% or 0.05 points to end at 3.08 and Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) shed 1.31% or 0.69 points to 51.81.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 295 to 263 and 102 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 6.27% or 2.71 to $45.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 4.97% or 2.33 to hit $49.13 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.08% or 12.60 to trade at $1178.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.05% to 4.2868, while USD/PLN fell 0.19% to 3.8723.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.36% at 96.67.
