Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Construction and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which rose 4.73% or 2.51 points to trade at 55.60 at the close. Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) added 4.38% or 0.36 points to end at 8.58 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was up 2.84% or 2.84 points to 102.81 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Synthos SA (WA:SNS), which lost 4.94% or 0.270 points to trade at 5.200 in late trade. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) declined 4.15% or 0.26 points to end at 6.01 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) shed 1.89% or 0.060 points to 3.120.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 312 to 256 and 177 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 2.36% or 1.14 to $47.26 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.89% or 0.97 to hit $50.38 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.08% or 0.95 to trade at $1204.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.19% to 4.3196, while USD/PLN rose 0.02% to 4.0634.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 101.43.
